Holland CO-OP

Due to personal crises in the lives of various families who had chosen leadership positions in the Holland CO-OP, we were forced to cancel the January and March 2007 sessions.  We are currently looking for families who are interested in putting forth significant effort to see the Holland CO-OP get off the ground.  If you, or anyone you know is interested, please contact us at hollandco-op@lmhsc.org

The following are some responses from the students involved in the Muskegon LMHSC co-op:  (All of the classes were taught by parents just like you.)  This is what the kids had to say

The best thing I learned at CO-OP was the Rocketship Countdown song in Gym.  (Preschool)

The most fun I had this year was when we went to the Valentine Party. (Preschool)

My favorite class is art.  The best thing I learned in art was how to make trees. (K and 1st grade)

My favorite class is all of them!  But the best thing I learned was how to make a kite in Flat Stanley class. (K and 1st grade)

The best thing I learned this year was how magnets repel. (2nd & 3rd)

Art was my favorite class this year (but I liked Magnet Science too).  The best thing I learned this year in art was about the color wheel – what colors to put in it.  (2nd & 3rd)

My favorite class this year was my cooking class.  It was the most fun thing to learn all year!  (2nd & 3rd)

The most fun thing I learned this year was how to crochet with my fingers from Mrs. Tiesma's class.  I love that!  It was confusing at first but now I do it all the time.  (2nd & 3rd)

In Medieval History we made several projects including a castle complete with a moat drawbridge and turrets.  We also made a shield with our own coat of arms. (6th -12th)

Art class with Mrs. Smith is really fun!  She is a cool teacher and she is a good artist too.  The projects we have done so far have been really neat and we aren't just doing the art but we are learning about colors and techniques and famous artists too.  (6th -12th)

I've learned through some of my classes that persevering is the only way to get something done right, whether it is writing, exercising or everyday work.  (6th -12th)

My very favorite class was Romeo and Juliet.  It's one of my favorite stories. I love Mrs. Coggin's classes, the homework she gives is really fun.  Shakespeare is awesome!  I especially enjoyed learning how to find different motifs in a story.  (6th -12th)
