connecting the Lakeshore's home school families - Celebrating 10 years!
Frequently Asked...
What are LMHSC's "divisions" and how do they work?
LMHSC's divisions are the different home schooling venues operated by LMHSC. Connections, Muskegon CO-OP, Sinfonia, Rothbury CO-OP and AXXESS are all current divisions of LMHSC. Under the supervision of the LMHSC board of directors, each division has it's own committee and operates independently from the other divisions. The LMHSC mission statement; statement of faith; general, behavior, and dress policies cover all divisions. From there, each committee sets it's own distinct operating procedures, schedules, and fees. Enrollment in LMHSC grants you access to all of LMHSC's divisions.
How do I get involved?
Simply complete the enrollment application. Once your family's application has been processed you will receive notification of all LMHSC, Inc. events and activities. Your family will also be able to then register for any classes offered by LMHSC's divisions.
May I enroll online?
No, we ask that you complete an enrollment form and mail it in to: P. O. Box 433, Grand Haven, MI 49417. Once you are enrolled you will be able to register for CO-OP and Sinfonia classes. We do hope to be able to allow online registration for CO-OP and Sinfonia classes. However, we will continue to have families enroll via paper forms.
Why do you do background checks?
LMHSC, Inc., believes that children are a gift from God and it is an awesome responsibility and privilege to be able to work with these gifts. We appreciate the willingness of parents to accept the honor and challenge of making a difference in children’s lives. This information is held in the strictest confidence and will not be stored on any computer (thus the reason we don't enroll families online).
Where does my enrollment fee go?
To the LMHSC general fund yearly budget
Why do we have to do fundraising? Aren’t the fees enough?
We do fundraising to purchase additional items and to plan for the future.
Where does the fundraising money go?
Generally the fundraising goes to items not within the general budget, primarily equipment. The board listens intently to requests from LMHSC Division committees. The board seeks to make LMHSC more excellent for parents and students.
